Project Details

This blog was a project I did over the 2009 Christmas holiday for my husband, who is a Navy Reservist who was recently recalled to serve an active duty tour in the Middle East. He expressed the desire to blog about his experiences overseas, and I was thrilled when he asked me to build him a blog and gave me carte blanche to do whatever I wanted with it. I built it on ExpressionEngine 2.0, with a design that features desert camouflage, a dog tag navigation menu, and a grungey stencil font. Taking things one step further, I used an ExpressionEngine theme switcher pluggin to create an alternate theme that features urban camouflage (which is used in the new Navy working uniform), giving visitors the option to change the theme at will.
